Think Pink

March 17th, 2013 by Tatiana
Following my previous Instagram projects in Gambia and Morocco, I realised that I take so many photos when travelling yet I hardly notice that there are plenty of things to photograph around me. Indeed, in our day to day life we tend to get along with usual things without paying attention to little unimportant details. [ ... ]

March 8th – International Women’s Day

March 8th, 2013 by Tatiana
Today, the 8th of March, is International Women’s Day, which is the celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women. Although it is called International, I found out that not all countries celebrate or even know about it. The UK is just one example. I managed to find this map which shows where exactly International Women’s Day is celebrated. [ ... ]

Mini-Europe & Facts about Europe

January 10th, 2013 by Tatiana
Did you know that it is possible to tour the whole of Europe in just a couple of hours and that you can walk from Sweden to Spain in just 5min? I managed to do so with friends a couple of months ago. How? Simply by taking Eurostar from London to Brussels and then going to a park called Mini-Europe. It displays around 350 monuments from each country-member of the European Union at a scale of 1:25. I heard many people saying that London is too busy and crowded but they forget or may not know that there are many places in London where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a peaceful walk. One of them is Little Venice in Madia Vale neighbourhood, just steps away from busy Paddington. It’s a wonderful hidden oasis [ ... ]

October 23rd, 2012 by Tatiana
Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil. Last week I went to the O2 in London to see yet another amazing show by Cirque du Soleil called “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour”. As we approached the O2, there were people taking a guided tour of the roof. It looked very exciting, I am totally up for one of those. It is a big complex [ ... ]

Evolution in London or NYC?

October 17th, 2012 by Tatiana
PVD aka Paul Van Dyk is one of my favourite trance DJs and if there is an opportunity to go see him play live I try not to miss it. On October 20th I wanted to go to the Warehouse Project in Manchester where PVD and Armin Van Buuren would be playing, but we are off to Milan, so no luck. I found out that PVD was comingt to London on his Evolution World Tour [ ... ]

Off the Beaten Track

October 2nd, 2012 by Tatiana
What a start of the week! Heavy rain, strong wind, gloomy grey morning, leaves falling from the trees. Autumn has arrived..To make my day brighter and warmer I put on my beautiful embroidered boots and wrapped myself in a shawl which I bought in Peru. A lady came up to me and asked where I got these boots and her facial expression after I said “Peru” suggested that she did not know where this shop was.. So, I made it easier for her “South America!” Good news though that they predict a colourful autumn because of the big amount of rain recently and sunny days before. I cannot wait to go somewhere [ ... ]

A Day at the Olympic Park

August 10th, 2012 by Tatiana
On Tuesday we spent the whole day at the Olympic Park watching morning and evening athletics sessions at the Stadium! What a day it has been! Not a word can describe the emotions, the friendliness, the togetherness and the mutual support that the Olympic Games bring out of people. If only every day was like this… It certainly should inspire generations. Thank you, athletes, for sharing your strengths and talents with us and thank you, London, for making it happen! I won’t even attempt to describe so just enjoy the photos. [ ... ]

At the Start of the Athletics Triumph

August 5th, 2012 by Tatiana
Waking up at 6am on Saturday.. How does this sound? A bit crazy, yes. Not when going to the Olympic Stadium on the 8th day of the XXX Olympiad in London. S is my own olympic champion for getting those tickets for today. Since last Sunday refreshing has been his job No.1 and seeing the words “we are checking if the tickets are available, estimated wait time is 15min or more” was like waiting until pigs can fly. Tickets disappeared within seconds of being put up on the site. Suddenly, last night I heard “omg I am on a payment page for tomorrow’s [ ... ]

One Day of My Life

August 3rd, 2012 by Tatiana
6 pm NYC time (11pm UK time) – taking a taxi from Midtown to JFK International Airport. The taxi organised by the hotel wanted a minimum of 65$ to JFK. Beware – this is not the price to pay! From Midtown Mamhattan to JFK by yellow cab is a set fare of 45$ + tolls+ tip. And it has been like this for at least 3 years. The taxist was blatantly lying to our faces that it was 65$ and that during rush hour no yellow cab would stop. 5min later we were in a cab for 45$ + extras. [ ... ]
