November 26th – World Waterfall Day

November 26th, 2012 by Tatiana
Waterfalls… November, 26 is World Waterfall Day. These breathtaking spectacles of nature make you realise the true magnificance and power of water. They help communities by providing much needed in water. And today some of them are in danger of drying up because of climate change. These are more than enough reasons to celebrate World Waterfall Day. I do it by remembering and sharing with you the photos of all the wonderful waterfalls I have been lucky to see. [ ... ]

Evolution in London or NYC?

October 17th, 2012 by Tatiana
PVD aka Paul Van Dyk is one of my favourite trance DJs and if there is an opportunity to go see him play live I try not to miss it. On October 20th I wanted to go to the Warehouse Project in Manchester where PVD and Armin Van Buuren would be playing, but we are off to Milan, so no luck. I found out that PVD was comingt to London on his Evolution World Tour [ ... ]

In the Hippies’ Paradise

The highlight of our long weekend was a two day trip to Key West. Having seen many times the infamous picture of Highway I cutting through the Florida Keys, S always wanted to drive along it and be surrounded by the ocean. I have one album associated with driving in Florida. Every time I go there I listen to Gatecrashers Trance Anthems 1993-2009, my favourite album ever, featuring Armin van Buuren, Paul Van Dyke, Tiesto, Binary Finary, Cosmic Gate [ ... ]

One Day of My Life

August 3rd, 2012 by Tatiana
6 pm NYC time (11pm UK time) – taking a taxi from Midtown to JFK International Airport. The taxi organised by the hotel wanted a minimum of 65$ to JFK. Beware – this is not the price to pay! From Midtown Mamhattan to JFK by yellow cab is a set fare of 45$ + tolls+ tip. And it has been like this for at least 3 years. The taxist was blatantly lying to our faces that it was 65$ and that during rush hour no yellow cab would stop. 5min later we were in a cab for 45$ + extras. [ ... ]

Miami Birthday Part 2

July 29th, 2012 by Tatiana
Everybody would agree that the sun and good weather mean a lot when going on holidays. I always feel sorry for tourists in London when the weather is bad. And it’s NOT always raining here contrary to what many people think or say. Talking about weather, I knew that it would be warm in Miami in January, I was not sure about it being sunny or stormy. Florida, after all, is a thunderstorm capital of the US and I have seen some impressive storms there. Although no big storm happened during our stay, the days were quite humid and gloomy, with big heavy clouds and rain here and there [ ... ]

Miami Birthday Part I

July 8th, 2012 by Tatiana
Yes, that’s what present S got from me last year for his 30th birthday- a long weekend in Miami. I wanted to go somewhere where it would be warm at the end of January, a city, preferably with a beach and fun things to do. I had been to Miami before and usually I do not like going to the same place several times (apart from NYC) but on this trip I planned to visit infamous Key West, which is only 4h drive from Miami, so Miami seemed like a perfect choice. I prefer to stay in South Beach, or SoBe how they call it, as it is full of restaurants, shops, trendy hotels, night clubs and beautiful people. [ ... ]
